What employees do in the app
| Task | What the app does |
|---|---|
| Check in and out | Punch at a geofenced work site, or use face check-in after enrolling on the phone; see today's shift |
| Punch without a signal | The punch is kept on the phone and sent when it reconnects, timed from the moment of the tap |
| Fix a missed punch | Request regularisation for the manager to approve |
| Rest-day work | Request On Duty in advance to work a weekly off or holiday |
| Leave | See live balances and comp-off credits, apply for full or half days, and track each request |
| Expenses | Submit a claim with a photo of the receipt and follow it through each approval step |
| Travel and timesheets | Raise travel requests and fill in weekly timesheets |
| People and company | Search the directory, browse the org chart, read company news and check the holiday list |
Push notifications tell employees when a request is approved or something needs their attention, and each person chooses which notifications they receive.
What managers do in the app
- Approve or reject leave, regularisation, On Duty and travel requests from the phone.
- See team attendance for the day — who is in, late, on leave or on a comp-off — without opening a laptop.
- Approvals follow the same workflow as the web, including delegation while an approver is away, so a request approved on the phone is approved everywhere.
Geofenced and face check-in
Check-in from the app is governed by the attendance policy. You map employees to work sites drawn on a map, and can run the fence in audit mode first to see who would be refused before anything is enforced. Face check-in is judged by the same rules, so the face confirms who is punching and the fence confirms where.
What stays on the web, and why
Payslips and salary details stay on the web only. They are not shown in the mobile app by design: a phone is easily lost, shared or looked over, and pay is the most sensitive record an employee has. Employees view and download payslips, Form 16 and tax declarations from self-service on the web.
Administration also stays on the web — payroll runs, policies, settings and reports — so the app remains quick for the tasks people do every day.
Privacy in the app
- The app links to the privacy policy and terms, and an employee can open a pre-filled email to make an access, correction or deletion request about their data.
- Face-recognition data is deleted 90 days after an employee leaves, and punch-location details in the attendance register are cleared after 365 days.
- Sensitive records — bank details, PAN, Aadhaar and pay — are encrypted at rest on Verdeshell's side.
Getting the app
The app is free for every employee of a subscribed company, on iOS and Android, and is part of the Starter plan. Employees sign in with the same account they use on the web.
